S.P.I. Walk for Women

Walk for Women, Inc. is an organization initiated by local women to heighten breast cancer awareness and to raise money for the area residents affected by this disease and who are in need of financial assistance. Gift certificates, auction items and cash donations are always appreciated and welcome.

This October 5th, 2012, begins the 9th Annual Walk for Women. A 3-day event dedicated to financially assisting local residents who are fighting breast cancer. Walk for Women, Inc. is requesting donations from local individuals and businesses to assist the fund-raising for this event.

We look forward to welcoming your organization as a participant in assisting others with the opportunity to win the fight against breast cancer. Please feel free to contact us for questions, sponsorships or additional donation details.

Our Goals:

  • To equip breast cancer patients with the knowledge and culturally competent tools necessary to facilitate confident and informed decisions regarding their treatment options and overall health care.
  • To educate patients, their families and the public about the importance of self-care, personal health responsibility and how to partner with their health care team to receive the comprehensive, quality care, information and support they need.
  • To provide ongoing one-on-one support for breast cancer patients throughout their diagnosis, decision-making, treatment and recovery continuum of care.
  • To collaborate with the health care community, policy-makers, researchers and the public to address the complex medical and psychosocial issues facing breast cancer patients from all cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds in order to ensure improved standards of care, improved community outreach and equal access to quality care for all breast cancer patients.
